The first company of Castanheira Group was founded 50 years ago and was one of the first car hire companies in Portugal. With its growth, opportunities started showing up, causing the need to create synergies.
In 1996 it becomes a Budget Licensee representing, in Portugal, the major American car hire company. With full country coverage, we have locations in all Algarve, from Albufeira to Portimão, Vilamoura to Monte Gordo, Lagos to Armação de Pêra and, of course, Faro Airport. On the centre, Budget is present in Leiria, Coimbra, Figueira da Foz and in the north, we have locations on Oporto city centre – airport, Av. Boavista and Campo Alegre. We also have locations in Braga, Bragança and Vila Real. In Lisbon, Budget have locations at the Airport, Av. João Crisóstomo, Rua Castilho, Av. Brasil, Cascais and Mem Martins. In 2008 we opened our first location in Madeira Island, on the most popular Funchal area – Estrada Monumental.
